Gluten, Meat, Dairy-Free: Day 3
Ash Wednesday at a Catholic college. Good day for supporting my cause. No meat in the caf!!
Woke up too late for breakfast. Rice, roasted vegetable, and some kind of dry, baked curly fries with no seasoning.
I was feeling a little hungry around the middle of the afternoon, and knowing I wouldn’t be able to eat dinner until after two early evening classes, I figured I’d get a snack. I was going to go for bulk value and get a big bag of corn tortilla chips and a jar of salsa from the Shack, but they were out of salsa. So, soymilk and about 1/5 a bag of Orville Redenbacher’s popcorn. I put some extra soy protein isolate in my soymilk since I didn’t have anything of much proteiny value yet.
Then, for dinner, about ten minutes ago, parsley red potatoes, and broccoli.
Here’s my current position - The vegetables probably all had butter on them. And While I shouldn’t have, I got butter flavored popcorn.
So I’m taking my steps. I need to figure out what they put in the veggies, or I can resign to not care. It will probably be the latter, because hell, I can’t cook for myself. (Except for last night; I made some wild rice with a little curry powder and basil! Good stuff. I should remember to get myself some coconut milk next time I’m out!)
